Street Fighter 6 brings back Elena — and another legendary name from the past

Elena returns to the fray in Street Fighter 6 on June 5, but she isn’t the only world warrior returning to the franchise. On Sunday, Capcom announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that legendary music composer Yoko Shimomura would be contributing a new track to Street Fighter 6’s soundtrack in a “special collaboration.”

The new background song, called “Edge of Triumph,” will be available in the character BGM settings as a part of the forthcoming Elena update. “Edge of Triumph” is a lively number laced with Shimomura’s signature battle-ready sound without sacrificing Street Fighter 6‘s already-established sonic continuity.

Yoko Shimomura is one of the most well-known music composers in video game history. Her work has blessed players’ ears for over three decades, and her compositions have appeared in games such as Live A Live, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fight, Super Mario RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles, Street Fighter II, and more. Shimomura was most recently celebrated at the 2025 BAFTA Game Awards, where she was honored with the BAFTA Fellowship for her “groundbreaking work” and for “paving the way for women in the industry at a time when it was overwhelmingly male-dominated.”

As for Elena, the Street Fighter 3 darling will arrive alongside the gorgeous Reniala Remains stage, inspired by Africa’s beauty. The announcement of Yoko Shimomura’s new track coincides with the Nintendo Switch 2’s release and a new version of SF6 called Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Edition.

Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Edition includes, you guessed it, everything released for the critically acclaimed game from the past 2 years. This content consists of the following:
