In Donkey Kong Bananza, Ingot Isle is actually where you start the game, learning how to control DK and picking up a few Banandium Gems along the way. After you beat the game, you’ll be able to fully explore Ingot Isle again, this time expanded with more golden bananas to find.
[Ed. note: There are a few spoilers ahead. While the first sublayer Banandium Gems are part of the tutorial, the Banandium Gems from #4 and forward are post-game only. We don’t recommend scrolling too far down if you haven’t gotten there yet, unless you really want to, for some reason.]
Below, we list where to find all of the Banandium Gems in Ingot Isle in Donkey Kong Bananza.
Sublayer 1 Banandium Gems
There are three Banandium Gems in Sublayer 1 in the Ingot Isle Layer.
#1: The First Banandium Gem
You’ll find this banana shortly after you start Donkey Kong Bananza.
#2: Through the Banana-Mining Belt
This banana is found at the end of the mining belt.
#3: Digging up a Snack
The third banana is at the end of the gold-filled cave.
Sublayer 10 Banandium Gems
There are 33 Banandium Gems in Sublayer 10 in the Ingot Isle Layer.
#4: Secret by the Start
After you hit the Warp Gong and reunite with Pauline, return to the starting point and look up to spot a ledge hidden along the wall. Transform into your snake form and charge jump your way up. Continue along the path to find a banana behind a breakable wall.
#5: Gold Rush!
After you’ve completed the story and returned to the Ingot Isle, this bunch of bananas will be right ahead of you.
#6: Shifty Smash: Rising Tower
This Shifty Smash challenge can be found on top of the Ingot Isle sign behind Banandium Gem #5. Before starting the challenge, we recommend unlocking the Snake Bananza’s Meteor Punch skill, as it’ll easily destroy each layer of the tower. Jump on top of the tower in your snake form, and meteor punch away each layer to get the banana.
#7: Shifty Smash: Break Up the Ring
From the starting point, turn to the right to find an island with an elephant Fractone and a shifty triangle. Transform into an elephant and suck away all of the rotating blocks to get a banana.
#8: Thwarting the Thorns
From the Baboomtown Entrance tuning fork, turn to the left until you spot a floating platform that has a cube of thorns on it. If you have the Egg Bomb skill unlocked, you fly into fan’s air stream and drop an egg on the thorns to explode it. If you don’t have the Egg Bomb skill unlocked, you can grab a chunk of gold and chuck it over to destroy the thorns. After the thorns have been destroyed, you’ll find a banana hidden inside.
#9-10: Ingot Isle Fragmentone Recovery and Ingot Isle Fragmentone Restoration
From the Baboomtown Entrance tuning fork, turn to the left and walk to the edge of the cliff. If you look down towards the water, you’ll spot a Fragmentone and its three pieces on two different platforms. To get the first piece, hit the blue balloon to raise a bridge out of the water and safely bring the piece back.
To bring the two pieces back, you can hit the balloon to raise the bridge to hits tallest height and quickly bring them back over the bridge. If it’s a little too fast for you, you can bring them to the platform where the first piece was standing and raise the bridge again to give yourself some more time.
#11: Shifty Smash: Checkerboard Crush
Enter the tunnel behind the Warp Gong to find this Shifty Smash challenge. To easily complete it, use your Kong Bananza powers and punch your way through all of the blocks.
#12-14: The Ingot Isle Growtone, The Hungry Ingot Isle Growtone, and The Sated Ingot Isle Growtone
Feed the Growtone gold to get this first banana. You can access the Growtone by flying with Ostritch Bananza over the thorny part of the isle, as there’s wind turbines to blast you up to these platforms.
Feed the Growtone a disgusting amount of gold (10,000 total) to get all three bananas. We hate Growtones in this household.
#15: Post-Sprint Treat
Dash across this crumbly bridge using Zebra Bananza to nab that banana.
#16: Snack in a Sunken Slab
Dive punch down repeatedly on this concrete block using Kong Bananza to break the banana inside the block.
#17: Ingot Isle Hide-and-Seek
Find all four hidden Fractones in the area to get the banana. The main Fratone here is right next to the Baboomtown Square tuning fork. One is coated in gold in front of Smashintone, one is covered in mud above the “Simple Tools” sign, another is on the back side of the building past Smashintone, and the last is next to a pillar, behind the seeking Fractone.
#18: Ingot Isle Smashin’ Stats
Smash through 99,999 cubic meters of gold on this sublayer to get this banana from our buddy Smashintone, who’s hanging around the Baboomtown Square tuning fork.
#19: Ingot Isle Quiz Master
Answer Quiztone’s questions to get this banana. You can find Quiztone among the shops near the Baboomtown Square tuning fork. The correct answers are as follows:
- A pickax
- Banandium Chips
- A bow tie
#20: Decked out in Gold
To get this banana, you’ll need to show yourself to Glamtone, a golden Fractone who loves fashion. They’re hanging out above the Baboomtown Getaway. You’ll need to be wearing the Golden Britches and have Golden Fur (both purchasable from the shops in Planet Core), as well as the Bananergy Tie (from the Canyon Layer).
#21: Cranky’s Ingot Isle Rant
Cranky and Rambi are on top of the Baboomtown signage above the shops. Hear Cranky Kong out to get a banana.
#22: Finished Four Fights!
Pay Grumpy Kong 5,000 gold to open the Bunch of Battles challenge. You’ll get this bunch of bananas after clearing out four rounds of the challenge. Note that these challenges can be tough. If you lose any of them, you have to start them completely from the beginning again, so be prepared with lots of health and powerful skills.
For each challenge, you’ll have 30 seconds to defeat a group of enemies. In this set of challenges, you’ll need to defeat the following:
- Seven crockoids
- Seven crockoids riding mine carts
- Five antickoids
- 10 munchoids
#23: Beat Eight Bouts!
The next four series of fights are as follows:
- 30 squeeloids
- Two muckoids
- Five stompoids
- 10 antickoids
#24: Won Thirteen Rounds!
The next four series of fights are as follows:
- Seven rolluskoids
- Five buzzoids
- Four batteroids
- 14 concrete wallopoids
As for the very last challenge, you’ll need to defeat Grumpy Kong.
#25: Battle Rush Cleared!
After you complete the Battle Rush challenge, you’ll find both Banandium Gem #24 and #25.
#26: Kong-quered Inflammonite!
Pay Grumpy Kong 10,000 gold after you’ve opened the Battle Rush challenge to open the Boss Rush challenge.
For the first challenge, wait for snow to fall and throw it at Inflammonite to make them vulnerable. Break through the snow to unleash the smaller version of Inflammonite and throw a chunk at them to damage them. Repeat this process two more times to defeat the boss.
#27: Kong-quered Abracajabya!
Just like the Abracajabya fight in the Forest Layer, fly to each plant and punch them to defeat them. To make things a little easier, you can charge jump in snake form and glide the rest of the way to avoid all of the obstacles on the bridges.
#28: Kong-quered Sinister Blusterwing!
For Banandium Gem #28, you’ll need to defeat Blusterwing again. Similar to their previous fight, you’ll need to throw chunks at its wings to subdue them. However, make sure to watch out for the lightning strikes while you’re in the water because it will deal damage in an area. To avoid the lightning, hand slap to raise the platforms scattered around the arena.
#29: Kong-quered Muckety-Muck!
For this fight, we recommend upgrading your elephant skills to make it a little easier to suck up all of the salt pillars around the arena. Swap to your elephant form and suck up as much salt as you can and throw it at Muckety-Muck. Repeat this process until Muckety-Muck is vulnerable and then unload all of your salt-filled punches on them.
#30: Kong-quered Stompenclomper!
Stompenclomper is back, but this time, their feet are covered in thorny concrete. Switch to your Kong Bananza form and grab a chunk of concrete out of the ground to unveil the gold layer underneath. You can either throw the concrete or gold at the feet to destroy it.
For the second phase, you’ll need to repeat the process, but be careful when Stompenclomper falls onto the ground. You’ll need to throw chunks of concrete or gold at the head to completely destroy it before you’re safe to swing.
#31: Kong-quered the Boss Rush!
After you complete the entire Boss Rush challenge, you’ll be able to grab both Banandium Gem #30 and #31.
#32: Snack on the Outskirts of Town
This banana is in a rock outside of the covered-up sinkhole. Use DK’s Hand Slap sonar to find it.
#33: Shifty Smash: Quick & Nimble
Enter the barrels above to find this shifty triangle. Use Snake Bananza’s glare and charge jump to break the shifty boxes to get your banana.
#34: Claimed on the Crane
After you pay Grumpy Kong 120,000 gold, take the barrels to the top of the structure. Look over the left edge by Donkey Kong’s golden fist to find this banana sitting on top of a crane.
#35: The Best of the Bunch
After you pay Grumpy Kong 120,000 gold, climb to the top of the golden Donkey Kong statue to find this banana replacing one of DK’s tufts of hair.
