Last week, Gigabyte suggested Intel was working on a new wave of LGA1700 processors—likely a Raptor Lake refresh for expanded DDR4 support during these memory-constrained times. It has even been busy releasing BIOS files for B760 and H610 motherboards to ensure full compatibility once those chips arrive, which it expected was around "early 2027". This week, Gigabyte has scrubbed all mention of those forthcoming chips, removed the blog post, and...

A GamesBeat report claims that Grand Theft Auto 6—which still hasn't been announced for PC—will launch for PC sometime within the first three months of 2027. If correct, that means the game will drop, at most, just four months after its initial release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.GamesBeat cites "four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans" in its report, all of whom requested anonymity. Rockstar has...

The Steam client got a major new update today, with Big Picture Mode receiving the brunt of the attention. Most exciting, I guess, is that the previously beta-only screensaver feature for Big Picture Mode is now live for the general public. In its default mode the screensaver will display art from recently played games, as well as any recent screenshots you've taken. But you can add your own custom screensavers...

It's a classic move: A villain, or sometimes a hero, inserts himself into a seemingly inescapable situation. Danger everywhere—no way out! But just as the good guys (or bad guys) are about to pounce, he holds up the pin he's pulled from the grenade under his coat, forcing everyone to back off! Escape is at hand! That seems to be the strategy now adopted by notorious Grand Theft Auto 6 leaker...

10 years is a long time for anything, but for a live service game it's a milestone that very few are able to cross. Overwatch made it over the line earlier this year, and has since been able to do something of a victory lap because after all the highs and the lows, Overwatch is in the best place it's ever been. "It doesn't feel like 10 years to me,"...

The attorney generals for eight US states announced today that they are suing OpenAI.West Virginia, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Arizona, Idaho, and Montana have all filed lawsuits alleging that the ChatGPT maker has deceived and endangered the public, particularly children, in the name of profit. The complaints allege that ChatGPT has "coached" users to harm themselves and others, and—quoting the West Virginia filing specifically—state that "there is a growing body of...

I got off to a bit of an awkward start with Castlevania: Belmont's Curse when it first booted to a black screen. A few minutes of troubleshooting later, I deduced that the game wouldn't display on a monitor with its refresh rate set higher than 120 Hz. Easily solved, but I kept thinking of that quirk when I selected the in-game 120 fps cap and then watched the game jarringly...

More radical changes beyond just giving the characters necks are coming to Garry's Mod successor s&box. Facepunch Studios' game creation platform's launch in April was met with a swarm of negative reviews, complaints of AI slop filling its user-generated game collection, and swiftly plummeting user numbers. Now creator Garry Newman is reversing course on some of his decisions, such as pivoting to a 'greenlight type system' for user-generated games and announcing...
