Season 1.5, the mid-season update for Marvel Rivals season 1, brings the final two characters from The Fantastic Four to the game, as well as another major map. These final additions will round out the game’s first post-launch update, which NetEase Games said has “double the playable content of a regular season.”
With season 1.5, you can take control of the remaining two members of Marvel’s first family, the Human Torch, and The Thing. The Human Torch is the second duelist to come to Marvel Rivals, and The Thing is the first new vanguard since launch.
In this Marvel Rivals guide, we’ll break down when season 1.5 releases in your time zone and what you can expect from the second half of the games’ first season.
Marvel Rivals season 1.5 and Fantastic Four release time on PC, PS5, and Xbox
The second half of Marvel Rivals season 1 will launch at 3 a.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 21, adding the remaining two members of the Fantastic Four to the roster and a new map. Here’s when that is in your time zone:
The launches will be global across PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. NetEase Games has yet to reveal the official date for the end of season 1, but it’s expected to last for about six weeks, so until early April 2025.
What to expect from Marvel Rivals season 1.5
The second half of season 1 introduces the final two characters from The Fantastic Four: The Thing (aka Ben Grimm) and the Human Torch (aka Johnny Storm).
The Thing is a vanguard who uses his rock-like skin to take a beating while using his fists to clobber his foes. The Human Torch is a duelist who flies around the arena lighting the floor — and his enemies— on fire. You can see videos showcasing both new heroes and their abilities above.
As far as Team-Ups go, Johnny Storm will get one with Storm, creating a massive fire tornado. The Thing will be the second vanguard (after Hulk) to be able to perform the Fastball Special Team-Up with Wolverine. The Human Torch’s trailer also shows him benefitting from The Invisible Woman’s shield Team-Up, which The Thing will also, presumably, get to use.
The second half of Marvel Rivals season 1 will also introduce the final New York-based map, Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park, a convoy map where you’ll escort a payload into Dracula’s headquarters inside of Central Park.
